I (female) and another young woman are hanging out in a parking lot in the midday sun, with a dark brown teddy bear, about a foot tall. Apparently the teddy bear harbors the consciousness of a friend of ours, and we are treating it affectionately. It is sitting on the ground, and some dust/cobwebs had been blown onto it by the wind, and we sweetly brush it clean.
Also with us in the parking lot, sitting at the wheel of a delivery-style truck, though not currently driving, is another friend of ours who resembles Mos Def. We're having a philosophical conversation, in which he is giving us general relationship advice and trying to open our minds. He notes that you can never be sure what is going to really do it for you, knock you for a loop, or some such, until just after you have done the deed, or some such.
He proceeds to bring up rap as another example, saying that, although I might only rarely listen to rap, there could be that one perfect rap number out there that would prove to be irresistible, unforgettable, perfect, as long as you're receptive to it when the occasion arises. That's paraphrasing, unfortunately, because the way he delivered his thoughts on the matter was supremely eloquent, and I was hanging onto every word as he spoke.
